42,278 Farmworkers Total for Washington-Apples are the main product. A movement is occurring of migrant farmworkers from surrounding states and now the majority are H2A workers for pruning and harvesting.

 Observations from Our Recent Visit

  • Majority of orchard workers are H-2A; 

  • Bishop Tyson has taken a active stance on Migrant Ministry;

  • Migrant workers are witnesses to be listened to;

  • Farmworkers are a historical strength;

  • Farmworkers feel abandoned by the church;

  • Contact & listening to farmworkers is the most important service;

  • Education and formation at all levels;
